ShelfCast-Vertical™ #
High-resolution vertical thermocline profiles
- <1hr unprecedented latency – from the moment of the last measurement to availability on the ShelfCast API●
- Water-column QC certified●
- +/- 0.005 °C static long-term (5 year) accuracy of the temperature measurement●
- +/- 0.05 °C dynamic long-term (5 year) accuracy of the temperature measurement●
- Scientific grade accuracy and speed with true hydrostatic pressure sensor●

- ShelfCast QA/QC Standard (SQS) builds on Argo, QARTOD and SeaDataNet while adding tests unique to repeated observations from working fishing vessels:
- ○AR (Aspect Ratio) qualification for near-vertical profile quality.
- ○Tow Stability Index (TSI) to quantify benthic transect stability.
- ○Bottom Proximity Confidence (BPC) estimating confidence that the sensor remained within the target near-bed layer using a probe-embedded IMU.
- ○Repeated Track Consistency (RTC) comparing successive transects over the same fishing grounds to detect anomalies or gradual sensor drift.
- ○Unique to Neritix: Vessel sensors consensus over two trawler door probes each door carries one CTD probe.
- Fishing Operation Confidence (FOC) using NetSenz and GearSenz states to ensure data are collected during valid fishing operations.●
