WHAT IS LDS? #
BlueTraker LDS is an advanced weighing and electronic reporting solution enabling artisanal fishers to declare their catch upon landing. This functionality directly addresses the requirements of EU Regulation 2023/2842, which mandates national fishing authorities to implement such systems in the coming years.
The LDS ecosystem consists of two core components:
- The Landing Data Cloud (LDC) – a secure, cloud-based platform for data management.
- The Landing Declaration Kiosk (LDK) – an on-site weighing and reporting station installed in fishing ports and points of first landings.
Fully integrated with national Fishing Information Systems (FIS), the LDS provides fast, accurate, and paperless landed catch reporting.
HOW LDS WORKS? #
The LDK enables vessel masters to weigh their catch on a type-approved, regularly calibrated scale. Using a touchscreen interface, fishers enter landings details and immediately receive a printed receipt for the registered landings. To maintain product freshness, the kiosk also produces and dispenses ice. All measured and manually entered landings data is automatically and securely transmitted to the FIS.
